Istanbul, the vibrant city bridging East and West, pulsed with the intense rhythm of HYROX on August 1st and 2nd, 2026! With no less than 2922 participants from all corners of the globe competing at the Istanbul Fuar Merkezi, this Turkish edition delivered on all its promises. A single day to give their absolute best on the Floor, with high stakes for athletes seeking qualifications, personal records, or simply to fully experience HYROX. The atmosphere was electric, the competition fierce, and the performances lived up to the event's hype. Buckle up, we're about to tell you all about the highlights of this breathtaking race.

Open Men — Top 10

The Open Men's category delivered a high-flying spectacle, featuring impressive density and numerous athletes pushing their limits. The podium was fiercely contested, and the top 10 is packed with new personal bests.

What an incredible race for these Open Men! Great Britain's Declan Connolly dominated the category with a blistering time of 00:56:09. He crushed his previous personal best by over 6 minutes compared to Cardiff, proving he was on a mission in Istanbul! Close behind him, Australia's Nick Collin also performed admirably, setting a new PB of 00:57:10, improving on his Bengaluru time. But the true ovation goes to local hero Burak Edis Emiroğlu 🇹🇷, who claimed third place in 00:57:29, bringing a podium finish to Turkey and beating his own Riga record!

The competition was so tight that experienced Dutchman Rik Beugel, with 11 HYROX races under his belt, could only secure fourth place despite an excellent 00:57:45. Just behind, France's Victorien Vivier delivered an exceptional performance, improving his Paris record by almost 1 minute 45 seconds with a time of 00:58:01. We also note impressive PBs from Patrik Nagy (Hungary), Fredrick Smith (Great Britain), Max-Ludwig Vogeley (Germany), Bjørn Meincke Olesen (Denmark), and Dino Linden (Netherlands) who complete this top 10. The battle for every second was palpable!

Open Women — Top 10

Our female athletes once again proved their strength, endurance, and determination. The Open Women's category in Istanbul was a fascinating mix of rising stars and seasoned competitors.

In the Open Women's category, Great Britain's Laura Sudall took the win with a magnificent 01:03:58, significantly improving her Riga time! She led the race from start to finish with impressive control. On the second step of the podium, Turkey's Aysel Eğri 🇹🇷 brilliantly defended her country's colors with a time of 01:06:10, showing great consistency after a previous race in Istanbul.

Third place went to Italy's Sara Bonizzi, who, in her first HYROX race, impressed everyone by making it to the podium with a time of 01:06:46. What a debut! Austria's Marlene Zimmermann also shone with a new PB of 01:06:57, just ahead of Maria Evans (GBR) who also had a remarkable first participation. Ukraine's Anna Davydovych and veteran Iveta Kukle (with 11 races to her name!) completed this top. We also find Hungary's Emese Major and France's Mathilde Perrot, both with PBs or strong first races. A huge congratulations to all these athletes!

Pro Men — Top 5

The Pro Men's category is the cream of the crop at HYROX, and Istanbul did not disappoint. Absolute benchmark times, refined strategies, and near-perfect execution were on display.

The legendary Austrian Alexander Roncevic, a regular on the podiums with his 11 HYROX races, once again demonstrated his superiority by winning the Pro Men's category with an impressive time of 00:55:04. A true machine! Spain's Pablo Sánchez Santos, another 11-race veteran, seized second place in 00:55:53, less than a minute behind the leader. The duel was intense!

France's Xavier Dufour completed this highly competitive podium with 00:56:16, showcasing the depth of French talent on the HYROX circuit. Just off the podium, Bulgaria's Nikolay Georgiev achieved a personal feat by beating his previous year's Istanbul record with a new PB of 00:56:33. What incredible progress! Finally, Great Britain's Jacques Hladkyj, a veteran with 10 races, solidly held his spot in this top 5 with an excellent 00:56:59.

Pro Women — Top 5

The Pro Women, as always, delivered an inspiring display of strength and technique. The world's top female athletes gathered, and the results speak for themselves.

The victory in the Pro Women's category goes to Germany's Lea Sophie Pommerening, who dominated the race with a time of 00:58:57. Not only did she win, but she also set a new personal best, improving her Stockholm World Championships time by a few seconds! What a performance!

Behind her, Great Britain's Molly Sweetman made a spectacular comeback to secure second place in 01:01:58, smashing her previous London PB by over 3 minutes! An athlete definitely to watch. Austria's Alice Schürer, a veteran with 11 HYROX races, secured third place on the podium in 01:02:16, proving her consistency at the highest level. Holly White (GBR) and Evelina Pinta (Latvia), both veterans as well, completed this top 5 with very solid performances.

The podium is completed by the duos Szymon Mochnacz and Filip Freddie De Vill (00:55:36) and JULIEN FAUJOUR and ALAN BERROU (00:55:37), both participating for the first time, showing the emergence of a new guard. Kamil Kuszmider and Hubson Kalman conclude this top 5 with a great PB of 00:56:12!

This was undoubtedly the most remarkable and unexpected performance of HYROX Istanbul! The Turkish duo Şeyma Sude Eşler and Ela Gedikoğlu, in their very first participation, achieved an absolutely stratospheric time of 00:37:50. This time, the fastest of the entire competition, defies expectations and raises questions about the nature of this performance, which can only be described as a pure exploit. We can only applaud this unprecedented display of power!

Following this record-breaking performance, the duos Zeliha Puls and Sarah Holden (01:02:17), Lena Reislöhner and Lena Werner (01:02:56), Irene Aresti and Stephanie Soteriou (01:03:05), and Duygu Yilmaz Ozdemir and Elisa Kenar also posted excellent times for their first Doubles race, completing this promising top 5.

The Mixed Doubles category was the scene of a frantic race. The French duo Leonore Pelé and Rayane Kara made a huge splash in their first participation, claiming victory with an impressive 00:53:47! They were closely followed by the duo Quentin and Mévéna Pingliez, who set a new personal best in 00:54:39. The siblings Johann and Rebecca Frank (00:55:02), as well as Laurie Dawkins and Bradley Cox (00:55:15), and Ruairi and Tiarna Grimes (00:55:28) completed this top 5, all with PBs that testify to the incredible level of this category.

They were followed by the pairs Eugenio Bianchi and Dylan Caruso (00:50:07) and Erik Woodward and Erik Oscar Bøe, with the latter duo achieving a new PB in 00:50:10. A top 5 dominated by new teams and very high-level performances.

Stefanie Oswald and Seka Arning have brilliantly won the race for their first participation with a time of 00:53:58, a solid time that places them directly at the top. They were closely followed by Svenja Sommer and Linda Meier who achieved a new personal best in 00:54:46, improving their Lisbon time. Céline Von Potobsky and Melanie Maurer (00:56:30) and Tascha Møller and Michelle Raupelyte (00:58:06) also made very strong debuts. Finally, veteran Megan Lockey and Kate Smith, with 7 races under their belt, rounded out this top 5 with a respectable 00:59:53.
