The weekend of May 16-17, 2026, will forever be etched in the memory of functional fitness enthusiasts in Mexico! HYROX Puebla 2026 transformed the Cívica 5 de Mayo into a true temple of effort, where no less than 5639 athletes pushed their limits. The atmosphere was electric, the competition fierce, and every WOD was a source of pure adrenaline. From seasoned veterans to hyped-up rookies, everyone gave their best in this endurance and strength race. If you participated, congratulations, you are part of history! Open Men: Mexican Talent Shines Bright

The Open Men's category was the scene of remarkable performances, dominated by a wave of new Mexican talents. The podium was 100% local, a sign of a thriving HYROX scene in Mexico!

In his very first HYROX race, Gabriel Tellez Garza made a huge impact, winning in 01:02:10! A top-tier performance that suggests a promising career. Renato Sanchez Sanchez (01:03:10) and Sergio Paredes (01:04:32) completed this podium of 100% first-time participants, showcasing the depth of new talent. Just behind, Jose de Jesus Curiel Rojas came close to the podium, only 1 minute away. But perhaps the most impressive improvement came from Pedro Trejo, who, with a blistering time of 01:05:45, shattered his personal record by over 11 minutes compared to Mexico City! Leonardo Daniel Solís Huitrón also set an impressive new PB, improving by almost 8 minutes. We also note the consistency of Axel Tello, who despite a time slightly higher than his Guadalajara performance, remained a strong contender in the top 10.

Open Women: First-Timers and Personal Bests!

The Open Women delivered a fierce battle, where experience and fresh talent competed for the podium. Once again, Mexican performance was in the spotlight!

Daniela Mussali claimed victory in 01:13:49 🇲🇽, a solid performance just above her Acapulco record but significantly better than her Miami race. Second place went to guadalupe Pérez Rodríguez, who, in her very first HYROX participation, jumped straight onto the podium in 01:15:36! She was closely followed by Ashley Fuhrmann Ramos (01:15:42) who achieved a magnificent new personal best, improving her Cancun time by over two minutes. The only non-Mexican athlete in the top 10, Sarah Worthington 🇬🇧, also set a new PB, proving her continuous improvement. Another rookie, Yorgely Velez Terrazas 🇧🇴, made an impressive top 5 debut. Finally, Linet Cerecero closed out the top 10, with a time slightly above her Guadalajara performance.

Pro Men: Experience Prevails, But Rookies Make Their Mark

The Pro Men's category was intense, with veterans demonstrating their mastery, but also a newcomer who carved out a prominent spot on the podium.

  3. Miguel Hernández espinosa: 01:07:27 🇲🇽

Spanish veteran Pelayo Menendez Fernandez 🇪🇸, with 11 HYROX races under his belt, once again demonstrated his dominance, winning in 01:02:08. This was the fastest individual time of the entire Puebla event! Mexican Alexis Trujillo Ortega (01:05:00), with 5 races to his name, confirmed his place among the best by taking the second spot on the podium. The surprise came from third place with Miguel Hernández espinosa, who, in his first HYROX Pro participation, secured a podium finish in 01:07:27! What a debut! Veterans German Gomez (8 races) and Ángel Quintero (whose time was slightly above his Monterrey performance) completed this highly competitive top 5.

Pro Women: An Untouchable Austrian, Mexican Talents in Pursuit

In the Pro Women's category, a regular on international podiums soared through the race, while Mexican athletes showed great promise.

The formidable Austrian Tanja Stroschneider 🇦🇹, with 11 HYROX races, dominated the Pro Women's category with a time of 01:10:30. Although not her personal best (she achieved 01:01:45 in Malaga!), her performance reflects incredible consistency. Jocelyn Monserrat Villegas Flores secured an excellent second place in 01:17:20, simultaneously setting a new personal best! Arleth Sánchez, a veteran of 4 races, climbed to third place on the podium. We also highlight the excellent debut of Diana Burrola who, in her first HYROX race, finished fourth in 01:19:23, just ahead of Maite Zumaya Manterola.

Doubles & Pro Doubles: Team Spirit at its Peak

The Doubles categories are always synonymous with cohesion, strategy, and shared performances. Puebla was no exception, with duos pushing limits together.

Doubles Men: A Fierce Race

The duo Carlos Zatarain Alan Benabib crushed the competition in 00:57:36 for their first-ever HYROX team race. An exceptional performance! The pair Johan Morin David Mathieu Michel Morin also performed well with a time of 00:58:22, demonstrating their consistency after a similar race in Monterrey. The top three teams all finished under the hour mark, highlighting the intensity of this category.

They clearly dominated the competition, finishing almost two minutes ahead of the pair Paulina Plasencia Daniela Davila. A podium entirely composed of new teams, showcasing the freshness and strength of the female duos!

They were closely followed by Mariann gonzalez German Flores just 14 seconds behind, and by Raul Victoria Bautista Mariana Caballero, just a few seconds from the podium. A highly contested category full of promise for the future!

A time that places them among the fastest of the entire event! Johan Morin Christian Scherf Islas was not far behind with a solid 00:58:51. We also find Omar Gameros Carlos Zatarain in the top 5, who had already distinguished himself in Mexico City.
