Richard Hynek defends his Rimini crown (57:54), Gloria Corbetta lands an Italian double, and HYROX takes over Europe’s biggest fitness show. Inside a record edition of 9,202 athletes.
Rimini is not a HYROX like any other. You race it in the middle of RiminiWellness, the largest fitness and wellness show in Europe, inside a fair that draws tens of thousands of enthusiasts to the Adriatic Riviera every year. From 28 to 31 May 2026, in that cauldron, one man did what he does best here: win. Czech athlete Richard Hynek defended his crown in 57:54, a year after his first win on the same course.

A HYROX inside Europe's biggest fitness show
RiminiWellness turns twenty in 2026. For four days, the Fiera di Rimini becomes a world capital of muscle and sweat, with hundreds of brands, thousands of group classes and a tide of practitioners. HYROX drops right into the middle of it, and that is what makes the stop unique: here the race is not isolated in a neutral hall, it unfolds in front of a crowd already won over by fitness.
The numbers show the surge. 9,202 athletes in 2026, up from 6,067 last year, a 52 % jump in twelve months. It is also the longest edition ever held in Rimini, spread across four days of racing. Worth remembering: Rimini, in 2023, was quite simply the first HYROX held in Italy. Three years on, the country has become one of Europe's engines for the sport, and the start list proves it: more than 2,690 Italian athletes raced this edition, far ahead of any other nation.
Richard Hynek, the king of Rimini
Some athletes love certain courses more than others. Richard Hynek and Rimini is a lasting love story. The Czech, a former obstacle-course racer turned HYROX athlete, had already won here in 2025 (57:39). In 2026 he did it again in 57:54, a back-to-back that makes him the undisputed boss of the Italian stop.
- 1. Richard Hynek (CZE): 57:54
- 2. Fabian Eisenlauer (GER): 58:28
- 3. Alen Ploj (SLO): 58:38
- 4. Oli Fricker (GBR): 58:50
- 5. Dylan Caruso (ITA): 59:45
Behind him, a familiar face: Fabian Eisenlauer, seen a week earlier at HYROX Berlin, took second. The top 5 was packed inside two minutes, a sign of an ever-deeper Pro field.
Gloria Corbetta delivers the double that fires up the local crowd
In the women's Pro field, the win went to Finland's Elli Stenfors (1:02:30), a physiotherapist and hybrid athlete from the world elite. But the real hero of the weekend for the home stands was Italian. Gloria Corbetta pulled off a remarkable double: third in the individual Pro Women (1:04:38), then winner of the Mixed Doubles with Sweden's Hugo Hugemark (54:45). Two races, two podiums, in front of her home crowd.
- 1. Elli Stenfors (FIN): 1:02:30
- 2. Ida Mathilde Steensgaard (DEN): 1:04:19
- 3. Gloria Corbetta (ITA): 1:04:38
- 4. Ambre Keram (FRA): 1:05:11
The best Frenchwoman, Ambre Keram, finished just off the podium, only 33 seconds from third. A result that confirms the French presence at the highest European level.
Italy sweeps the Open and Doubles podiums
In front of its own crowd, Italy delivered. In Open Men, Bulgaria's Nikolay Georgiev posted the fastest time (56:38), but he was followed by two Italians, Fadel Ndiaye (57:39) and Leonardo Tabarelli (58:47). In Open Women, Italy's Nicole Perinetti won in 1:04:26. And in the Doubles format, the most popular of the event, the Italian pair Alessandro Rossi and Iacopo Baraccani dominated the men in 54:43.
- Open Men: Nikolay Georgiev (BUL) 56:38
- Open Women: Nicole Perinetti (ITA) 1:04:26
- Doubles Men: Alessandro Rossi and Iacopo Baraccani 54:43
- Mixed Doubles: Hugo Hugemark and Gloria Corbetta 54:45
